Keitumetse “Kit” Qhali, known professionally as Director Kit, is an award‑winning South African director, writer and producer. In 2019, she was named one of Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans and later appeared on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Professionals list in 2020, as well as being honored by Facebook Africa’s “13 Most Influential Women in Africa.”
Her short film The Initiate was acquired by Showmax and premiered at the Cascade Film Festival in Portland in 2016. She directed the documentary Kick It, which won a SAFTA in 2019, and Ties That Bind Us, nominated for a SAFTA in 2020. 
On television, she directed episodes (including the opener) of Blood & Water Season 4 for Netflix. In advertising, she won a CICLOPE award for her Barloworld commercial Fierce Girl and directed the influential Made for Africa by Africa campaign for Netflix Africa, along with global trailers for Blood & Water and JIVA. 
Her work spans long-form documentary, narrative, commercials, and music videos such as Rands and Nairas, which earned international acclaim at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards. Driven by Afro‑centric storytelling and visual artistry, Qhali continues to shape African narratives across multiple media.
