A published playwright, theatremaker and filmmaker trained at the renowned Market Theatre Laboratory in Johannesburg. Chris’s curiosity and observations of life, people and himself have driven him to create work which allows others to sit, reflect, introspect in a manner that is entertaining. Chris has directed work in theatre for the US Embassy and Market Theatre. An accomplished actor having starred in the Norwegian film Safehouse and has starred in Netflix’s Jewel, as well as US Showtime Series King Shaka. He honed his filmmaking skills through an anthology of independent shorts which he directed at TsaMmu the screenwriting school in 2022 and 2023, as well as directing Music Videos. As a selected participant of the National Film and Video Foundation, Youth Filmmaker Program, he wrote, directed, and starred in his short film Rearview, which made its European Premiere at the Eurasia Film Festival in Russia, where it was nominated for Best Short Film. The film made its US premiere in Miami, where it was selected to be part of the South African Shorts. Showcasing and spotlighting emerging South African Filmmakers at the American Black Film Festival.
